Carnaval Halong 2016

This month, visitors to Halong bay will be charmed by not just the diverse food culture and friendly people, but also the colourful street festival Carnaval Halong. It will combine the features of a traditional carnival festival with a more youthful modern music festival. Tourists and locals alike will be encouraged to be active participants, joining the street party and dancing with the performers. There will also be onstage music performances by artists from all over the world, introducing music from different cultures.

The April 30 show will open with an introduction to the beauty of Quang Ninh and its people. Following that, performances of minority people such as the Tay tribe from Binh Lien, Dao Thanh Y tribe from Thanh Bo, and San tribe from Tien Yen, will light up the stage. There will be an excerpt of a traditional boat wedding performed by residents of nearby fishing villages. Carnaval Halong 2016 will close with a fashion show, displaying the traditional clothes of ten ASEAN countries.

Throughout the show, audiences will be told the story of Halong through music and light. The myth begins when dragons turned into islands and islets and journeys through to the modern day, with Halong Bay becoming one of the most attractive and famous destinations in the country.

With over 600 notable natural landscapes and historic sites, Halong Bay has won the heart of millions of tourists.
